There are many things associated while assessing the value of a particular coin. Only the rarity of the coin does not increase the price of the coin. The physical condition of the coin, the metals used and minting also play a major role to the price of a coin. However there are many sites and catalogs available for the valuation of the coins of many countries, But for the help of the Indian numismatologists there are no authentic sites are available but luckily some books and catalogs are available to assist you for the purpose of the valuation of your coins.

May be one of the hurdle in the way is the government and its specific acts which restricts a common citizen to hold any thing related to the ancient period and having some historic value. However if you want then you can contact the Ancient Indian history department of the university nearest to you for the identification, authentication or valuation to certain extent. You can go to the reputed dealers for getting your coins valuated or to a certain extant the archaeological survey of India may help you out in this regard.
